- conservative (RELIGION, Jan. 16), but because they will not
- compromise the truths and tradition of Roman Catholic beliefs. Pope
- John Paul II is doing his job as "father" in the faith in order to
- keep it alive.

- conservatism will choose to worship outside his grasp.
